Our woodchip product meets standards of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI). These specifications require that 5% or less of the shipment quantity must be no larger in size than 28.57mm (oversize), that 5% or less of the shipment quantity must be no smaller in size than 4.76mm (fines), that 1% or less of the shipment is bark, and that the shipment must also have 1% or less of rot. Depending on end-user requirements, we can consider a more strict quality standard; however, additional costs would result.Our loading rate at Port MacKenzie is approximately 500 to 600 MT per hour. We have a 152.4cm wide feed conveyor and a jet-slinger to throw the chips on board; we do not only gravity-feed chips onto the vessel. We also typically use a trim-dozer to obtain the greatest stow-factor possible. And for the stow-factor, we have experienced 110cf/MT or better for paper birch and 140cf/MT for white spruce.
